Aboriginal Art

Each piece of Aboriginal Art is not just a picture it is also a story.

 Just as we write down our stories with words, so the Aborigines wrote down theirs with pictures. Sometimes the stories would tell of journeys they had made, or of journeys they were going to make.

At other times the stories would be of their ancestors, or the ancient creatures who lived on the earth many, many years before man.

They used symbols to represent people, places, and animals.
